Expect Success and Succeed

Proponents of positive thinking avow that when we expect success and focus on it, our world will rearrange itself accordingly. On the other hand, if we focus on the possibility of failure while working toward success, we will send the brain mixed signals. This means that our efforts to succeed will be negated because we are subconsciously expecting to fail.

There are many ways that expectations can affect our ability to achieve goals. Here are three areas that are affected by our expectations:

  1. Attitude. It’s amazing how much attitude has to do with success. A negative or cynical attitude is enough to prevent us from giving our best effort and can lead to less than stellar results.

If we want to produce exceptional results, we need to adopt a dynamic attitude. We need to be passionate and committed to our goals and to expect nothing less than success.

  2. Action. What we expect affects our willingness to take action. Our expectations determine the intensity and persistence of our actions. If we expect things to go wrong, they usually will (Murphy’s Law). If we expect a negative outcome, we won’t work as diligently as possible.

On the other hand, when we’re motivated and inspired about our goals and expect them to produce outstanding results, we tend to be determined and act in a productive and deliberate way. Expecting success fills us with anticipation so there is no hesitation or tentativeness. There is surety.

  3. Interaction. Expectations affect the ways we interact with people. When we go into any potential partnership or opportunity with negative expectations, we will not be motivating potential partners. For example, when we are working to sponsor new LPGN IBOs, we want to be enthusiastic about the products and the moneymaking opportunity. The enthusiasm and positive feelings will be mirrored back. If we are hesitant and negative in any way, why would anyone want to get involved with us?

A positive person with a clear focus and solid plan of action is someone that everybody wants to work with! Not only will we feel better by expecting the best, our potential partners and benefactors will be inspired by our vision and want to join us!

According to Karla Brandau, the founder of Expect Success Month, people can learn to be emotionally healthy and take control of their own destinies. To do so, there must be a conscious effort to be optimistic and to use the power of positive expectation. Brandau offers five tips for people wanting to improve their mental mindset:

  1. Accept that life will inflict setbacks and disappointments.

  2. Become resilient by seeing setbacks as only temporary.

  3. Exercise determination.

  4. Persevere to succeed. Don’t quit trying.

  5. Wake up every morning and expect positive things to happen.

The next step is to take decisive action while maintaining the right mindset. Because as vital as it is to expect success, nothing happens until we take action. We must back up our expectations with action to successfully produce our intended results. Action is the "muscle" that propels expectation.

Let's take advantage of Expect Success Month and improve our thinking. Expect success and add to our LPGN Family by sponsoring new people!
