Do you think of the summer as a time when businesses kick back? It’s true that many people go on summer vacation, but for graduates from high school and college, it’s one of the most important and possibly scary times of their lives. New graduates are looking for jobs, which makes them ideal prospects for network marketing.

Just look at recruiters for traditional companies. They try to find graduates for multiple types of positions, knowing there are thousands of students searching for jobs. Generally, new graduates are more flexible about different types of opportunities, because they need work experience to add to their resumés. They’re eager to learn and are more open to starting at low pay.

Of course not every graduate will to be open to becoming an LPGN Independent Business Owner. It’s the same as prospecting with anyone: you never know. The difference is that with a graduate, you may actually have a higher success rate.

• A new graduate from a field that is not “hot,” may have a difficult time finding a job, because competition is thick. Liberal arts majors are not in as much demand as those with computer science or business administration backgrounds. Yet, those same liberal arts majors probably have personalities that are a good fit for network marketing: they like to communicate with people.
• A new graduate who is outgoing and open-minded would make a great network marketer. Again, personality counts a great deal in network marketing.
• New graduates in this day and age are accustomed to change, which makes them people you can mold. Training is crucial to creating successful downline, so finding people who are “coachable” is important.
• New graduates have fewer bad habits, because they don’t have a lot of prior work experience. They are less prone to being rigid about how to perform their jobs and are eager to adapt to their new circumstances.
• New graduates are tech-savvy. They will enhance your organization with their social networking skills and their knowledge of the various social media platforms. They will know how to help you get the most out of your personal replicated website.

Why not make a list of all the qualities you would want in your downline? Envision the perfect prospects who become new LPGN IBOs in your group and help you build a successful business just as you help them get started. When you talk to new graduates, try to see if they fit into your vision. Be open to them and put away any preconceived notions or biases.
